Display of Indigenous Folk Art from Manaus.The brazilian craftwork is one of the most expressive and rich in the world. The creativity is the trademark of this art molded art  the culture, the history and the national daily life. Besides stimulating the tourism, the production and the commercialization of a handmade goods is a wealth source, creating jobs and developing population in the whole country.

In the Northeast area is adiversified and original craft. The traditional artisans' expertise transforms raw materials as  mud, leather, wood, fibre and  straw in artistic pieces of real value.

The municipal district of Caruaru, in the state of Pernambuco,  is recognized by Unesco as the largest center of figurative art in America. Its artisans' fantastic production is exposed at a fair in 5 thousand huts. In the capital, Recife, the authentic Northeastern craft is also found at the House of the Culture and at the centennial Market São José.

In the North area, the exuberant amazon forest supplie the varied and rich material for the production of mud pots, crusher (where the coffee bean was kneaded) nets (used by the Indians to sleep), baskets, sieves, china and jewelry.

The Brazilian craft integrates the Pavilion of the Creativity, that gathers the more  complete and rich collection of Latin-American popular art. The pavilion, that exhibits the popular artists' work and anonymous artisans, is a section of the Memorial of Latin America, in São Paulo, idealized by the educator Darcy Ribeiro.
